ADHD UK AmbassadorMolly Burns

I'm Molly and I am absolutely honoured to be an ambassador for ADHD UK. Having recently been diagnosed at 22 years of age, I suffered an identity crisis struggling to feel part of the community and feeling that my diagnosis wasn’t valid because I wasn’t a child. This is not the case. By becoming an ambassador I am able to develop my own knowledge on current events affecting those with ADHD, use my social media to spread awareness and stop the stigma surrounding ADHD and campaign for real change in Northern Ireland especially.

My ADHD although sometimes has its challenges, allows me to experience so much, I’ve been able to navigate working as a regulatory audit associate, whilst also creating content on social media, modelling and trying lots of other hobbies along the way!

I have struggled my whole life with what I now know are neurodivergent traits but always assumed there was something wrong with me or it was just my personality and it wasn’t until one of my siblings was going through their assessments and diagnosis process that I thought about how much of what he felt resonated with myself. I’m very fortunate to have been able to go privately to get a diagnosis, however, I know this isn’t the case for many, I’m still on my own journey with navigating being neurodivergent but I hope I can help myself and others by being a proactive and determined ambassador for change!
