ADHD UK AmbassadorLouise Williams

Hi my name is Louise Williams. I am a 44 year old mother of three working for the NHS.

My middle daughter who is now 17. She attended a number of different high schools.

I was constsntly at the school.  I decided to home school her for our mental and physical well being. In the beginning, I didnt know what this would consist of but received alot of support from our local councils home education team in terms of what her curriculum should look like. Home education was a lot more flexible and we didnt have to stick to just core subjects.

I had asked our GP to refer my daughter to CAMHS which they did and CAMHS refused to take the case on the first time. The second time they decided they would see her.  After 6 years of trying to seek answers from her being seen by various health care and Education professionals, she was diagnosed with ADD at 16.

Finally things started to make sense.

I have chosen to be an ambassador to raise awareness, be a spokesman person and advocate for all those who may not feel they can speak out.
