Justine McDonnell
ADHD UK Ambassador
I'm Justine, a late-diagnosed ADHDer, occupational therapist, and one of the founders of Onyx Therapy – a neuroaffirming practice supporting neurodivergent individuals across the UK. For years, I worked with neurodivergent young people, unaware that I, too, was navigating life with ADHD. Receiving my diagnosis later in life was both validating and transformative, and it sparked a fire in me to become a louder, prouder advocate for change.
Through my work at Onyx Therapy and as a clinical lead in specialist education, I’ve supported countless individuals to embrace their neurodivergence, not as a deficit, but as a different way of experiencing the world. I believe in building systems that empower—not suppress—neurodivergent minds.
As an ADHD UK Ambassador, I’m passionate about reshaping the narrative around ADHD, especially for those missed by traditional systems—women, professionals, and late-diagnosed adults. My mission is to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and ensure ADHDers have access to understanding, affirming support at every stage of life.
Let’s create a world where ADHD is not misunderstood, but celebrated.
