Hi I’m Claire and I have only recently received my diagnosis in August, so I’m still finding my feet!
I’ve been doing research trying to make sense of my own head for about 5 years now and came to the conclusion I was AuDHD. After about 4 years on various waitlists, I’ve finally received my ADHD diagnosis!
In that time, I had been working to advocate for women and girls in similar positions to my own; especially after facing so many set backs and doubts in my life about my own abilities. I created a safe place on social media to share experiences and information called Navigating Neurodiversity; through this I was able to speak to others and share their stories which has helped to raise awareness for how important receiving the right support is.
With the help of ADHD UK I started to better understand myself and I found the right avenue for me through Right to Choose, which got me to my diagnosis.
As an ADHD UK Ambassador I hope to continue advocating for those unsupported people like myself that have been made to feel invalidated and limited.
