ADHD UK AmbassadorCharlotte Atkins

Hi! I’m Charlotte aka Cat. Growing up I always knew I was different, but I didn’t quite know why. As I got further through schooling and into university, I found life was getting harder. Landing a competitive grad job, I started to struggle with masking emotions that I could when I was younger. At 24, I had a mental breakdown and took 2 years off work. At 26, I got diagnosed with combined ADHD and it changed my life. Medication opened up a completely new horizon for me and I started to understand why I was the way I was. I’m still navigating coming to terms with the diagnosis and all my quirks but life is a lot brighter. I’ve met some incredible neurodivergent individuals by being open about my own struggles at work and at home, and I’m hoping being an ambassador will provide me with the opportunity to engage and offer support to those that currently don’t have it. There’s a long way to go, but I’m hoping if I can positively impact people along the way and increase their confidence, I’ll feel I’ve done my part.
