ADHD UK AmbassadorCari Edmunds

Hi, I’m Cari and am so excited to be onboard as an ambassador for ADHD UK.

I’m a business owner and mum to three neurodivergent children.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early 40’s and a few years later also diagnosed as Autistic.

I spent years of my life struggling with tasks that seemed to come naturally to everyone else. Working twice as hard to just keep up… it became exhausting and had detrimental effects on my mental health.

Whilst my eldest child was going through ND assessments, it was suggested that perhaps I should peruse an assessment myself.

With my diagnosis came relief, but also a sense loss for what my life could’ve been if I had received a diagnosis at a younger age.

I feel passionately about raising awareness of ADHD, particularly in females.

I’m currently in my second year of practice-led PhD research, exploring my embodied experience of ADHD, I hope to contribute new knowledge and highlight the difference in presentations between men and women.
